What color analysis is
The point of color analysis isn't to find one 'right' season, but the colors that bring brightness, balance and natural harmony to your face. The result is often known by names like spring, summer, autumn and winter — but the colors matter more than the names.
Why Drape is different
Most color analysis apps give one quick guess. The DrapeX™ engine is built differently — it measures, it doesn't guess.
Our analysis draws on a combination of features:
- Skin undertonewarm or cool
- Contrastlow or high
- Facial color balancehow the tones relate
- Seasonal typespring, summer, autumn or winter
The goal isn't just to name a season, but to find the colors that look naturally best on you.
We build Drape in Finland together with color analysis professionals. The method accounts especially for northern light and the fair skin tones common in Finland.
AI doesn't replace a stylist
We believe the future of color analysis comes from AI and experts working together.
That's why we're building a nationwide stylist network, so clients can also get a human confirmation of their analysis if they wish.
We're building the next generation of color analysis
Our goal isn't just to digitize today's color analysis, but to make it more accessible, more consistent and easier to approach for everyone.
A free color analysis is only the first step.
The four seasons
Traditional color analysis sorts people into four seasons. Drape uses these familiar categories, but behind them it assesses several features: lightness, contrast and the warmth of your tones.
Spring
Warm, bright colors.
Summer
Cool, soft colors.
Autumn
Warm, muted colors.
Winter
Cool, bright colors.
Frequently asked questions
Is the color analysis free?
Yes. The AI color analysis in Drape is free, and you don't need an account or a payment card.
What kind of photo works best?
One clear photo of your face in soft, even daylight. Avoid filters, harsh shadows and artificial light, so your skin's true tones show correctly.
What do I get?
Your seasonal type and its subtype, plus a personal color palette: the colors that bring your face to life, and the ones to avoid.
How accurate is the analysis?
Drape assesses your facial features — lightness, contrast and the warmth of your tones — and presents the result using the familiar four-season model. No automated analysis is perfect, so we keep improving its accuracy.
Can Drape replace a stylist?
Not entirely. Drape draws on the same principles professionals use and makes color analysis available to everyone. A stylist's personal view is coming — you can join the waitlist.
